Florida State Fire Classes

Safety Officer

The Florida Fire Safety Officer program is an advanced certification program designed for individuals having health and safety responsibilities. It is intended to prepare individuals for service as fire department Incident Safety Officers and Health & Safety Officers. The Florida Safety Officer program is based on NFPA 1521 Standard for Fire Department Safety Officer Professional Qualifications.

Ricky Rescue Training Academy offers the courses required for Incident Safety Officer and Health and Safety Officer certification. These courses can be can be completed individually or combined to apply for a Florida State Safety Officer certificate of competency through the Florida Bureau of Fire Standards & Training.

(Note: all Safety Officer certification levels also require completion of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Courage to be Safe program)
