Florida State Fire Classes
Florida Fire Officer
The Fire Officer program is an advanced training and certification program designed to prepare firefighters for services as department lieutenants, captains, or other leadership positions. It is based on the NFPA 1021 Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications.
Ricky Rescue offers the classes required by the Florida Bureau of Firefighter Standards & Training for Fire Officer levels I, II, and III. Classes may be taken individually or as part of the bundled Fire Officer I, II, or III Series. (Note: all Fire Officer certifications also require completion of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Courage to to Safe program. Fire Officer II and III also require ICS training, as noted below)
Fire Officer I
A Fire Officer I (or Supervising Fire Officer) has the responsibilities of a Company Officer who supervises a single fire suppression unit or small administrative group within.
Fire Officer II
Fire Officer II (or Managing Fire Officer) has the responsibilities of a Company Officer who supervises a multi-unit emergency incident.
(Note: Fire Officer II certification also requires completion of ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents)
Fire Officer III
Fire Officer III (or Administrative Fire Officer) has the responsibilities of a Chief Officer. A Fire Officer III has at least five years of full-time experience as a certified Fire Officer.
(Note: Fire Officer III certification also requires completion of ICS-400: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents)

You must ensure that you work consistently and diligently to complete the coursework and related requirements in order to move forward. These open enrollment courses allow you to pace yourself, but will require sufficient self-discipline to keep up to date with the workload. Therefore, it is your responsibility to set aside the time required to complete the various units of these courses.
